CD Release Party

The Mind of Love: Jennifer Lauletta sings the songs of k.d. lang

A lot of creative effort by excellent musicians went into this project. We took our favorite k.d. lang songs, laid them back, minimized the orchestration, added a little jazz expression and let the sensuality of the songs seep into our bones. It was all aided and abetted by Steve
Crews on piano, Todd Hildreth on accordion, Tyrone Wheeler on bass, Mike Biggs on guitar, Jon Topy on trombone and Ben Sollee on cello.

Most of you know the excellent talents of Steve, Tyrone and Todd.
Trombonist Jon Topy, a favorite of mine, added some very mellow tones.
The late guitarist Mike Biggs had a fantastic musical history, having
toured for several years with Herb Ellis and also with Ella Fitzgerald.
Cellist Ben Sollee, who made the list of NPR's Top Ten Great Unknown
Artists of 2007 and who tours with Bela Fleck, among many others, has
just released his second CD, /Learning to Bend/.
